SAFRI provides impetus for German-African economic cooperation
Berlin/Nairobi, December 2, 2024 – With over 800 registered participants from Germany and across Africa, the German African Business Summit (GABS) will kick off in Nairobi on Monday, December 2, 2024. From December 2 to 4, the largest German business event on the African continent will bring together high-ranking representatives from politics, business, and society to strengthen cooperation between Germany and Africa and provide new impetus for joint economic projects.
Prominent guests include Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Robert Habeck and Senior Cabinet Secretary H.E. Musalia Mudavadi from the government of Dr. William Ruto. Numerous representatives of German federal ministries, multilateral organizations, and leading companies are also expected to attend. The event is organized by SAFRI in cooperation with the AHK East Africa.
This year’s conference will focus on promoting cooperation in key sectors such as renewable energies, agribusiness, IT, finance, and raw materials. Around 20 side events and a start-up pitch event will round off the program. A particular goal is to integrate African countries more closely into the supply chains of German companies while developing solutions for the challenges of the future. German companies are currently optimistic about their business in sub-Saharan Africa. However
