The fifth German-African Business Summit (GABS) will take place in Kenya’s economic hub Nairobi from December 2 to 4, 2024. Every two years, GABS brings together leading representatives from business and politics in Germany and Africa. Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Robert Habeck has already confirmed his participation, and Kenyan President William Ruto will be among those attending from the African side.
The aim of the conference is to strengthen German-African economic partnerships and explore potential areas of cooperation. Registration for the event, which is expected to attract around 500 guests, is now open.
The German Chamber of Commerce for East Africa (AHK Kenya) is responsible for the local organization. GABS was launched by the Sub-Saharan Africa Initiative of German Business (SAFRI). SAFRI is a joint initiative of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Federation of German Wholesale and Foreign Trade (BGA), and the German-African Business Association.
